TATRATEA Expands Its Portfolio with Three New Products

We are delighted to introduce three new products: TATRATEA 33% CHERRY & CHOCOLATE, TATRATEA 33% LAVENDER & BLUEBERRY and TATRATEA 35% MANDARIN & MANGO. The new additions expand the TATRATEA portfolio with bold flavour combinations built on fruit, herbs, tea and fine spirit.
TATRATEA has long been known for its original tea-based herbal character and its bolder, higher-strength variants. This trio, however, shows a different side of the brand. At 33% and 35% ABV, the individual flavours come through more clearly. That also makes the new products an easy choice for consumers who prefer smoother spirits that are easy to mix.
“When developing the new products, we didn’t just want to add more flavours. Each of the three has a clear role in the portfolio and its own flavour profile. Cherry & Chocolate brings a richer, dessert-like character, Lavender & Blueberry a floral and fruity note, and Mandarin & Mango a fresh, exotic alternative. What they have in common is the tea base and TATRATEA’s signature style,” says Erik Semaňák, Director of KARLOFF.
TATRATEA 33% CHERRY & CHOCOLATE: An April Fools’ joke that came true
TATRATEA 33% CHERRY & CHOCOLATE is a product that was never meant to exist. Its story began on 1 April 2026, when TATRATEA announced a fictional cherry and chocolate flavour on its social media as an April Fools’ joke. At the time, there was no recipe, no finished product and no plan to add such a combination to the range.

Consumers, however, reacted in a way the brand didn’t expect. Instead of spotting the joke, people wanted to know when the new flavour would be available, where they could buy it and whether they could taste it. Many fans saw cherry and chocolate as a natural and appealing idea for TATRATEA. The April Fools’ post unexpectedly turned into a direct test of demand for a product that didn’t yet exist.
“We published the cherry and chocolate flavour with no intention of producing it. But the response was so convincing that we went back to the idea and started working on a real recipe. This is a product our fans led us to create,” says Kristína Horná, Marketing Specialist at KARLOFF.
The challenge in development was finding a balance that kept the fresh fruitiness of the cherry while making the richer chocolate note clearly present. The result is a tea-based herbal liqueur with a pronounced cherry opening, gentle acidity and a smooth, lightly sweet chocolate finish. It is not a heavy dessert liqueur, though: the tea base keeps the taste balanced and gives it the character typical of TATRATEA.
It can be served neat, slightly chilled or as a digestif. In the on-trade, it also pairs well with chocolate and fruit desserts. In mixed drinks, it works well with ginger ale or ginger beer and freshly squeezed lime juice, for example.
TATRATEA 33% LAVENDER & BLUEBERRY: An unconventional blend of floral and fruity notes
TATRATEA 33% LAVENDER & BLUEBERRY offers a more aromatic profile built on the contrast between lavender and blueberries. Lavender creates a delicate floral aroma, while blueberries add fruitiness, body and a slightly sweet character. The tea base ties the two together and keeps the final taste balanced.
During development, it was important that the lavender didn’t come across as overpowering or perfumy. Its role is to lift the flavour and give the product a distinctive character, not to mask the other ingredients. The blueberry then rounds out the taste and makes it more approachable, even when served neat.
The liqueur can be served chilled or on the rocks. In simple drinks, it pairs well with grape soda, lemon juice, soda water or a drier tonic.

TATRATEA 35% MANDARIN & MANGO: TATRATEA’s fresh, exotic side
The juiciest of the three is TATRATEA 35% MANDARIN & MANGO. Mandarin brings a fresh citrus taste and light acidity, while mango adds body, softness and a natural exotic sweetness. Tea notes come through mainly in the finish and set the product apart from ordinary fruit liqueurs.
“Mango is one of the most popular flavours across the drinks market today. We were also aware that we had relatively few citrus flavours in our portfolio. Mandarin & Mango brings together a current trend and a flavour profile that had been missing from our range,” adds Erik Semaňák.
This variant was designed with versatility in mind. It is great served chilled on its own, and it works just as naturally in longer, lighter drinks. It can be mixed with tonic, citrus or ginger lemonade, soda water or prosecco. In cocktails, it goes well with lime, passion fruit and other tart fruit ingredients that balance the sweetness of the mango.

New flavours for new occasions
The three new products widen the range of occasions and ways to serve TATRATEA. With them, the brand moves more firmly into simple mixed drinks that need no complicated preparation or long list of ingredients. One liqueur, a quality non-alcoholic mixer, ice and citrus are enough for a drink with a clear flavour, suitable for bars, restaurants and home serving alike.
The new products also respond to the need to use TATRATEA more widely throughout the year. The brand’s bolder variants are naturally associated with neat serving and the colder months. The new fruity and floral combinations, by contrast, also suit refreshing spring and summer drinks. They are not meant to replace the original products. They add new flavour occasions and aim to reach consumers who have so far known the brand mainly through its strongest variants.
“We want to develop TATRATEA as a brand with firm Slovak roots that also fits naturally into today’s bar and drinks culture. That’s why we designed the new products to be interesting on their own and practical for the on-trade. Neither a bartender nor a consumer at home needs a complicated recipe to make a great drink with them,” adds Kristína Horná of KARLOFF.
Availability
The new products are available to buy online (only for Slovak market) at www.tatrateashop.sk. From October, they will also be continuously available at selected markets in retail and wholesale outlets and in the on-trade.
